ECBS-LARC 2009 was established as part of the evolving IEEE TC-ECBS initiative on regional conferences.  Today’s concerns for the environment and travel carbon footprints as well as global economic conditions, is seeing less of us travel to international conferences. Yet the e-Conference model hasn't reached the sophistication of its face-to-face equivalent in terms of networking and collaborative opportunities and so forth. The Regional Conference model encourages local cooperation, with full IEEE vigour, with dual linkage between the RC and International Technical Meeting.
