GENERAL INFORMATION

REGISTRATION:

Pre-registration is not required, but is strongly encouraged for quick pick up of registration materials and for your own convenience. The registration fee for the meeting includes admission to all technical sessions, Tuesday lunch and cocktail reception, refreshment breaks and one copy of the proceedings. There is an additional fee for the tutorials scheduled on Monday, May 7, 2001.

To pre-register for the meeting, return the enclosed form with your payment to IEEE International Symposium on Electronics and the Environment Conference Registrar, 445 Hoes Lane, Piscataway, NJ 08855-1331 or fax it to 732-465-6447 before April 10, 2001.  On-line registration for the conference is also available at https://swww3.ieee.org/EventReg/?societyBrand=ISEE2001

There will be a $50.00 service fee for processing refunds. A letter requesting the refund should state the pre-registrant s name and to whom the check should be made payable. Requests for refunds must be in writing and received no later than April 24, 2001.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:

The Symposium will be held at the Denver Marriott Tech Center.  A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved for the attendees of the 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Electronics and the Environment at the Marriott.  The special rate for the Symposium is $119.00 single/double occupancy and is subject to state and local tax which is currently 13.45% per room, per night and is subject to change without notice.  In order to qualify for this special rate, you must mail or fax the Hotel Reservation Form, along with your method of payment, to the hotel directly prior to April 20, 2001.  Reservations received after the cut off date of April 20, 2001 will be granted on a rate and space availability basis only.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Reservations: All reservations for the hotel listed above are being coordinated by the hotel directly.  To reserve a room, complete the hotel reservation form and send it to the address on the form with a method of payment to guarantee the room.  All reservation forms MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARRIOTT NO LATER THAN April 20, 2001.

Changes in Reservations: All changes of arrival, departure, type of room or names of persons should be made directly with Marriott.

Billing Procedures: Upon arrival at the hotel, the guest will be asked to present method of payment for all charges.

Reservation Confirmation: Confirmation numbers will be issued from the hotel to the guest directly.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be made through the hotel directly. 

Airport Transportation: A shuttle service is available to and from the hotel every half-hour for a fee of $17.00 one way, or $30.00 round trip. For further information, please call airport transportation at (303) 370-1300.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS:

Airline Discounts: Special discounted airfares for ISEE 2001 Conference in Denver, Colorado on May 7-11, 2001 have been negotiated with United and American Airlines. United Airlines is offering a 12% discount off the lowest available super-saver fares and coach fares. American Airlines is offering a 10% discount off the lowest available super-saver and coach fares. Where super-saver fares or Saturday night stays are not applicable, both United and American are also offering zone fares. Discounted airfares are also available on other airline carriers. Please call IEEE Travel Services for availability. Some restrictions apply and airfares are guaranteed to be the lowest available at the time of ticketing.

Travel arrangements using the designated air carriers, or the carrier of your choice can be made through IEEE Travel Services by calling 1-800-TRY-IEEE, (1-800-879-4333) within the US and Canada. Outside the US, call 732-562-5387 between the hours of 8:30AM and 5:30PM EST Monday through Friday. Or, you may visit our new on-line travel service web site at www.ieeetravelonline.org.  This secure site offers simple and convenient service through which you can search, reserve, and ticket your travel anytime, anywhere.

You may also fax requirements to IEEE Travel Service at 732-562-8815. When faxing or e-mailing, please be sure to include your travel dates, departure time, phone, and fax numbers. A Travel Counselor will contact you promptly.

Special rates have also been negotiated with Avis rental car company.

Proceedings:

A proceedings of the papers presented at the Symposium will be published and distributed at the Symposium.  Additional copies of the proceedings will be available for purchase at the Symposium. 

Speaker Information:

Speakers are requested to meet with their session chairs on the day of their presentation.  Monday speakers will meet for lunch on Monday, May 7, 2001, 12:00pm-1:00pm, Tuesday speakers will meet for breakfast on Tuesday, May 8, 2001, 7:15am-8:00am, and Wednesday speakers will meet for breakfast on Wednesday, May 9, 2001, 7:00am-8:00am.

The Symposium will provide the following audiovisual equipment: overhead projector, podium and lavaliere microphone. 

Receptions:

All Symposium attendees are invited to attend the Cocktail Reception to be held on Tuesday evening from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

Student Poster Session

We are starting a new event in 2001, a student poster session, to be held on Tuesday night, May 8, 2001, jointly with the cocktail reception. You are encouraged to bring in a poster about your, your colleagues' or your research group's work. Please let Mary Clemente (m.clemente@ieee.org, Phone: 732-562-5350, Fax: 732-981-1203) know by April 15, 2001 your name and how many posters you will be bringing.

We will provide a poster board. Your poster size should be 4' by 8' maximum, vertical orientation. Please bring tape and thumb tacks to attach your poster. You will be able to set up your poster on Tuesday afternoon, May 8, 2001.

Exhibits:

On Monday, May 7, 2001 the Expo will bring together companies, research groups, and institutions, to showcase products, services, technologies and tools for environmental issues related to the electronics industry.  All exhibits will be located in the Evergreen Rooms E-F, at the Denver Marriott Tech Center.  Don't miss this opportunity to network with your colleagues, and learn about the latest offerings.
