Thanks for publishing my paper on the definition of software engineering as a profession and letting additional people know about it. As an update: The motion is scheduled to be presented for approval to the IEEE CS BoG on Friday, 21 May 1993 and I am making the rounds of the IEEE CS Boards and committees prior to that to gain insights from others. I would be very glad to discuss it with any one or any group during the week of 21 May 1993 if that is desireable. For a group discussion, and if considered appropriate, I have some view graphs on the topic and would be glad to make those part of a presentation. The only qualifier may be that I some committments during that week to various BoG meetings. Comments on the paper itself would be welcome (Laurie, I did not receive a copy of your memo that was referenced in FASE 12, and if you could send me a copy, it would be appreciated.) We are going to actively seek a consensus of the concerned professionals in the field on this topic and will be (assuming the BoG approves the motion) energetically seeking partici[ation from all those who are interested.
