and imbedded into electronics products and processes from design and manufacturing
to end of life.
Introduction
The mission of the IEEE Electronics & the Environment
Committee is stated concisely in the mission statement above. Yet the implementation
of this mission includes a wide variety of activities including the dissemination
of technical information via conferences and publications, educational efforts,
participation in standards development, research recommendations, and advocacy
coordination. All of these programs, and more, support our mission.

Greening the Supply Chain: Energy Efficiency and Shared Responsibility in an
e-Business World
The IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Electronics and the Environment
(TCEE) and the International Association of Electronics Recyclers (IAER) are
pleased to announce that the 10th International Symposium on Electronics and
the Environment (ISEE) will be held in conjunction with the 3rd Electronics
Recycling SUMMIT® at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway, San Francisco, California
on May 6-9, 2002.
The IEEE and IAER are partnering to create THE premier international event on
the environment and recycling related to electronics. It provides an opportunity
for sharing technical and scientific knowledge, as well as the latest operational
and management strategies, business practices, and regulatory concerns. The
event will bring together engineers, managers and others engaged in research,
development, manufacturing and recycling of electronic products.
